The oldest hotel establishment in Bumthang, the Swiss Guesthouse is practically a heritage site, with rich history since 1970s. The old structure of the house in the seventies belonged to older sister of the 1st king of Bhutan. The guest house spread over an apple orchard offers a tranquil farmhouse experience.
The hotel is run by a Swiss family who has been living in Bhutan for the last three decades and has successfully managed to combine local design with European comfort to ensure optimum guest comfort. An added highlight is one may get to experience home cooked Swiss food.

The Swiss Guest House offers a nice restaurant inside the main building complimented with a cozy wood burning stove (Bhukari) and sit -out patio outside, where food can be served as well. The restaurant features Swiss inspired cuisine and have been known to offer one of the finest food in Bumthang. The hotel also produces its own draft beer under the label red panda should anyone be interested for a local swing. In additional standard facilities like laundry service, safe care parking and room service are also in place.
